Dear Friends,
The year 2018 was a year of continued growth for our association and a year in which we created history.
With the commitment, dedication and inspiration borne of graduating from St. George’s College, we continued to assist our alma mater’s robotics club and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programs. We believe that STEM education is a critical component of Jamaica’s future and of St. George’s College’s pursuit of excellence. As such we acquired robotics kits and laptops and arranged a donation of desktop computers to be used in a variety of programs at our school. We were able to accomplish all of this with the kind support of our Board and our members.
We are proud to have assisted with the formation of the St. George’s College Old Boys Association of the District of Columbia and commend its President, Patrick Williams, and his team on the work done so far. We stand with our brothers as they embark on a great journey.
Our Association was able to collaborate on several events with the kind support of the alumni associations of Immaculate Conception High School, Kingston College, St. Hugh’s High School, St. Jago High School and Jamaica College.
This year, with our North Street brothers, Kingston College, we held the inaugural Roper Cup, a football tournament with over 50 years of history in Jamaica. This signature event proved to be very popular and a great success. Players and spectators saw wonderful football and fellowshipped with friends, some of whom they had not seen in decades.
We remain committed to St. George’s College and we will do all that we can to ensure continued success. Our motto is “ Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam” which means “To The Greater of God” and it is the guiding force for all that we do for our school and in our lives.
Please accept our thanks for your support and we look forward to your continued support as we build a better future. Please support us with a donation via our website at https://stgcobane.org/donate-now/
Happy Holidays and Peace and Love from us.
