STGC Past Student is Boston College Martin Luther King Jr. Scholar

Thair Brown was chosen as the 37th Annual Boston College Martin Luther King Jr. Scholar from a short list of five.

He was presented with the award on February 19 at Boston College.

He is the son of Glenroy Brown, STGC Old Boy Association Executive and Sports Council Chairman and Mrs. Sharlene Chunnu-Brown.

Thair graduated from St. George’s College in 2014 and left to study at Boston College after sixth form in 2016.

Thair is in his third year and is an economics major with minor in computer science and African studies. The scholarship is worth $20,000 and is applicable for his final year. At Boston College, Thair excelled academically and was very active on and off campus. He is the President of the Caribbean Culture Club, adviser to the Center of Student Advisory Board, a member of the Student Leadership Council and a member of the Dedicated Intellectuals of the People.
